dc.description.abstractThe inhibition of low carbon steels corrosion in " 2.0 M sulphuric acid " solution by a sulphur containing organic compound namely " MethylCarbozodithoate " as commercially available inhibitor was studied at temperature " 20 ℃ " by weight loss technique and adsorption isotherm models. It was found that the tested inhibitor has a promising inhibitory action against corrosion of low carbon steel in the investigated medium. The inhibition efficiency was found to increase gradually with a corresponding increasing in the concentration of the inhibitor. Adsorption isotherms were tested for their relevance to describe the adsorption behavior of methylcarbozodithoate inhibitor. It was also found that the methylcarbozodithoate adsorbed well on the steel surface according to most of the models including; " Langmuir ", " Temkin ", " Freundlch " and " Flory-Huggins " adsorption isotherm models. Adsorption energies were also determined and discussed. The adsorption mechanism of methylcarbozodithoate corrosion inhibition is also proposed. A comparison between methylcarbozodithoate corrosion inhibition at 20 °C and 50 °C has also considered in our project in order to investigate the effect of inhibitor temperature on the corrosion behavior. Finally, The obtained results in this work indicates that methylcarbozodithoate compound is an effective inhibitor for carbon steel in hydrochloric acid solution specially at those lower temperaturesen_US
