A study is conducted to determine the engineering properties viz. Compressive strength by partial replacement of Portland cement in mortar by Al=Jufra limestone (JLS). Mortar is the bonding agent that integrates brick into a masonry assembly. Mortar must be strong, durable and capable of keeping the masonry intact, and it must help to create a water-resistant barrier. These requirements are influenced by the composition, proportions and properties of mortar ingredients. The partial replacement of cement material with a limestone considered as (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40%). The compressive strength of hardened cement mortar samples are found at age 28 days. Results showed that the maximum compressive strength is obtained only at 5% replacement. This result gives clear picture that (JLS) can be utilized in cement mortar mixture as a good substitute for cement at 5% replacement.en_US
